This is a three (3) day training course for those student candidates that wish to become NRA Basic Pistol Instructors. It is also a requirement if perusing a License to Carry Instructor Certification (LTC-I) in the State of Texas. Day 1 is the NRA Basic Pistol Course and is a pre-requisite to attend Days 2 and 3 of the series. Day 2 is the Basic Instructor Training (BIT), Day 3 is the Specific Discipline Instructor Training (Pistol) and range level 4 qualification. ** All Students must download and complete: Appendix 5, NRA INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM PRE-COURSE QUALIFICATION – PISTOL The appendix is made available to the registered instructor candidates which you will see at the very end of the NRA registration page. The total cost for the course is $325.00. You need to register in the Mountain Creek Range website (www.mountaincreekrange.com) and make a deposit of $125.00 for the system to allow you to register. The remaining balance is due on Day 1 prior to roll call. The deposit must be posted at least 72 hours before the course start time. If not, the system will automatically disenrolled you from the course. In case you are unable to attend the course after registration you can reschedule to a future course once. You need to make sure you have all your PPE. Baseball Cap, Eye and Ear protection. Bring a notepad, pen or pencil, and a 1 1/2” binder and highlighters. 200 rounds of ammunition will get the job done and allow for extra rounds if needed. You can qualify and do the training using at a minimum a semi auto .22LR Cannot use laser pointing devices. The qualification is with iron sights. Aiming dot devices are permitted. If able bring a single action revolver, a double action revolver and of course you must bring a semi auto pistol and ammunition for Day 1 Basic Pistol Course and Day 3 Specific Discipline and Level 4 Range Qualification. ABSOLUTELY NO LIVE AMMO OR FIREARMS IN THE CLASSROOM UNTIL TOLD OTHERWISE BY THE NRA TRAINING COUNSELOR. There will be long days; we suggest you bring snacks and drinks. More info: 254-793-3070
