This is a confirmation page that you registered for the NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) and The NRA Pistol Instructor Certification – Instructor Lead.
NRA Basic Pistol Instructor
Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to class start time. Class starts at 9:00 AM both days of class.
Day One - NRA Basic Instructor Training
Day Two - NRA Pistol Instructor Certification
The fee for the Basic Pistol Shooting Course is $100.00. A $25.00 deposit is required to secure a seat in the class. The remaining balance is collected at the beginning of the course. The basic course is required to take the NRA Pistol instructor Course. If attending, the follow-on NRA BIT and Instructor Certification follow the instruction in the next paragraph.
The total cost for the NRA BIT and NRA Pistol Instructor Certification is $325.00. You need to make a deposit of $125.00 for the system to allow you to register. The remaining balance is due on the first day of class. The deposit must be posted the day prior to the course start date.
The course is non-refundable. In case you are unable to attend the course after registration you can reschedule to a future course once more.

Appendix 5, The NRA INSTRUCTOR PRE-COURSE QUALIFICATION – Pistol. We will conduct the actual pre-qualification at the end of Day 1 or early on Day 2.

ABSOLUTELY NO LIVE AMMO OR FIREARMS IN THE CLASSROOM UNTIL TOLD OTHERWISE BY THE NRA TRAINING COUNSELOR.
Each student will receive one (1) NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course Student Packet. Each packet contains:
(1) NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook
(1) NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure
(1) Performance Checklist
(1) NRA Marksmanship Qualification pamphlet
(1) NRA Certificate of course completion

Student equipment and supplies requirements; what you must bring to class:

This is important. Instructor candidates must bring a laptop (recommended) or a tablet with WiFi capability.

All students bring a notepad, pencil, or pen, and I encourage to bring a laptop or tablet if possible.

At a minimum a .22LR or higher caliber pistol for the range certification and range qualification. You can qualify using a single action revolver, a double action revolver or a semi-automatic pistol. Most students qualify using a semi-auto pistol.

You can use IRON SIGHTS or AMMING DOT DEVICES. NO LASER MOUNTED DEVICES Allowed.

You need at a minimum 100 cartridges; I recommend you bring 200 rounds.

Head (baseball cap), eye and hearing protection is mandatory.

Gun Cleaning Kit
It is a full day of classroom and range work. Bring your own food items, the facility offers courtesy coffee and bottled water.
If you do not have access to your own handgun, Mountain Creek Range has different models and caliber pistols for rent for $20 a day. The range also has ammunition for sale.
